Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 October 2026Applies to the EPL Media Channel

You trust us with your ID, your press card and your photo. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, who sees it and how long we keep it.

What

Identity, contact and professional details plus the documents needed to verify you.

Why

To accredit you, issue your match passes and keep venues safe.

Who sees it

League media staff; clubs and stewards see only what they need.

Your control

Access, correct or delete your data any time by writing to us.

01Who we are

The EPL Media Channel (the “Platform”) is operated by the Egyptian Pro League (“EPL”, “we”, “us”), Cairo, Egypt. We are the controller of the personal data processed through the Platform for accrediting media professionals and managing media operations at league competitions.

For any privacy question you can reach our media desk at media@egyptianproleague.com.

02Information we collect

We only collect what we need to verify who you are and to let you work safely at our venues:

  • Identity data — given name(s), family name, date of birth, nationality, national ID or passport number and a personal photo used on your pass.
  • Contact data — email address and mobile number.
  • Professional data — your organization and its link, your media role, links to previous work, syndicate membership and your press ID.
  • Verification documents — a copy of your national ID or passport, your employer letter or organization ID card and, if you provide it, your syndicate card.
  • Activity data — match requests, seat selections, gate check-ins, match reports (for club media officers) and messages you send to the media desk.
  • Technical data — sign-in times, device and browser information and security logs.

03How we use your information

  • To review and decide on your registration and your match access requests.
  • To issue your personal match pass and validate it at the media gate.
  • To allocate press-tribune seats and manage venue capacity and safety.
  • To send you service emails: decisions (including the reason for any rejection), pass updates and operational notices.
  • To answer your enquiries and improve the Platform.
  • To meet the legal, security and regulatory obligations of the league and its venues.

We never use your documents or photo for marketing and we never sell your data.

04Data sharing

We share the minimum necessary information, only with:

  • Club media officers — your name, organization and role for matches involving their club.
  • Venue security and stewards — the data on your pass, at check-in.
  • Competent authorities — where required by Egyptian law or for stadium security.
  • Service providers — hosting and email providers bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements.

Identity documents are visible to authorised league staff only.

05Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and protect your session, plus preference cookies that remember your language and theme. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

06Data security

Uploaded documents are stored in private storage and served only to authenticated, authorised users. Sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies. Passwords are hashed and must meet a minimum strength policy. Access by league staff is logged.

No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting you we will notify you without undue delay.

07Retention

  • Active accounts: for as long as your account is open.
  • Identity documents: until your account is closed, or 12 months after your last match pass, whichever is sooner.
  • Rejected applications: 6 months, so you can fix and resubmit.
  • Check-in and security logs: up to 24 months.

08Children's privacy

Accreditation is available to professionals aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we delete it.

09Your rights

You can at any time:

  • access the data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate data (changes to documents are re-verified);
  • ask us to delete your account and documents;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent to optional communications.

Write to media@egyptianproleague.com. We reply within 30 days.

10Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will notify you by email and on the Platform before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
